Playing MMORPG’s over the years has made me friends and racked up skills to become a real pro. At least this is what I thought at first. After playing for years in virtual worlds it became clear sometimes an actual challenge doesn’t need to have lots of time invested in it to be worth it’s weight in entertainment.
I beat Witcher 3 but it has no major multiplayer component. Dark Souls 3 is as frustrating and clunky as ever. I have both games just no vast challenge – I plan to install the new Witcher3 DLC with the vampires.
Current rankings of MMORPG population – thanks Scoobersss!
SUPER POPULATED(The its dying but holy crap its still healthy tier)
-World of Warcraft
LARGE POPULATION(The its not WoW but there are still a ton of players tier)
-Final Fantasy XIV
-Guild Wars 2
-Lineage 2(I have been told that a ton of people still play this is Asian countries)
-Dungeon Fighter Online
HEALTHY POPULATION(Not booming but plenty of people are playing)
-Elder Scrolls Online
-Star Wars:The Old Republic
DECENT POPULATION(Not thriving, but there are enough players to keep the game from feeling dead)
-Echo of Soul
-Age of Wushu
-DC Universe Online
LIFE SUPPORT(A few people still play, but these games are barely alive)
-Age of Conan
-Lord of the Rings Online
NEW/UPCOMING GAMES THAT ARE HARD TO PLACE
-Blade and Soul(see this being quite popular)
-Black Desert(seems to get fair hype)
-Devilian(I know very little about this one)
-Albion(Appears to have been overhyped)
After seeing this long list, it boggles the mind of how many people are in virtual worlds – and the numbers are staggering!
Currently I am playing Heroes of the Storm on a regular basis, and very much enjoy it!
If you like DOTA2 or Starcraft multiplayer strategy – then you must jump in and play, it’s free and each time you play you win gold to buy more characters, skins, and mounts.
Worth a glance if you work hard, but play harder.
