Today on February 7th, 2016 – North Korea launched a satellite into space. thenumber28 strongly apposes this and all nuclear testing. It has triggered a wave of international condemnation and prompting strong reaction from an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council.
Even though they claim peaceful purposes, it is being widely viewed by other countries as a front to test a ballistic missile, as last month North Korea reported they had a hydrogen bomb test last month.
Both acts are in defiance of U.N international sanctions.
It was formed by the merger of Lockheed Corporation with Martin Marietta in March 1995. It is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, in the Washington, DC, area. Lockheed Martin employs 116,000 people worldwide. Marillyn Hewson is the current President and CEO.

ICBM defense has a multi-tiered system. The United States and our allies would more than likely launch their countermeasures at the ICBM. Some of these defense measures include: jamming, other missiles, lasers, bullets from jets cannons, microwaves, and remotely taking control of the missile.
All the countermeasures are based on hitting the incoming weapon with our own missiles. We have a pretty large naval presence in the Pacific and lots of the boats are equipped to take out a intercontinental ICBM missile.
At the same time there are more likely additional, more classified tactics. ICBMs travel at Mach 10 so I’d imagine they have some electronic countermeasures as well, maybe involving trying to hijack and redirect the missile remotely using special developed military technology.
It was mentioned to me that marines in Japan’s naval forces in the area that antimissile awareness is one of their highest top priorities.
We will be watching North Korea very closely to see how they progress and also retaining faith in the United States government to counter all threats foreign and domestic.
